XBIKE 2043: The Futuristic Transformable Passenger DroneBike

Revolutionizing Urban Mobility with Bladeless Fans and Hubless Wheels

The XBIKE stands out from other designs with its unique properties and strengths. It features transformable capabilities, allowing it to seamlessly transition between a motorbike and a drone. The main idea behind this concept is to provide extreme functionality with the power of emotional adventure. The integration of bladeless fan technology ensures a special combination of structure and efficiency, resulting in four times more constant airflow compared to traditional fans.

To realize this design, the XBIKE utilizes airplane-grade aluminum alloy for its accident-resistant and lightweight body. Other parts are made from plastics and stainless steel. The ergonomics of the rider's posture and seat have been carefully considered, with adjustable handles and a leather seat for maximum comfort.

In motorbike mode, the XBIKE measures 2610mm in width, 960mm in depth, and 1160mm in height. In drone mode, it expands to 3070mm in width, 960mm in depth, and 2330mm in height.

Usability is a key aspect of the XBIKE's design. The transformation from a drone to a motorbike and vice versa is made easy and smooth through the use of universal joints and special linkages. Additionally, the hubless wheels, which offer a usable space in the center, are utilized to blow airflow. A powerful engine blows air from slits around the ring, resulting in multiplied airflow.

The XBIKE project started in January 2016 and was completed in February 2017 in Tehran, Iran. Extensive research on future cities and the role of drones in urban transportation informed the conceptual framework of this design. The challenges faced during the project included creating an aerodynamic form for the transforming design and ensuring flexibility and interdependence of the main frame and structure. Through the use of various software and tools, an organic and aerodynamic shape was achieved.

With its futuristic design and innovative technologies, the XBIKE has garnered recognition in the design community. Mostafa Tohidifar's creation was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018, a prestigious accolade that recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
